FIRE SAFETY
In our December meeting, the Tennessee Valley Chapter honors a member of one of the local fire departments by presenting them with the Fire Safety Commendation Medal. The recipient is selected for his/her outstanding contribution to the field of fire safety. The leadership of the fire department makes the selection.
For 2002 the honoree was Chief Harold Jones of the Monrovia Volunteer Fire Department. Chief Jones was selected for a variety of accomplishments with emphasis on his help in implementing the Risk Watch Program. This program is a fire safety project aimed at fire safety awareness for students in several city and county schools.
