VETERAN'S AFFAIRS Veterans Affairs has become an important part of the Tennessee Valley Chapter programs. Harold Wright, our Veterans Affairs Coordinator, has focused his effort the past few months working with the Floyd ‘Tut’ Fann Veterans Home. Some of our member have used airline miles to purchase thirteen magazine subscriptions, and we donated money for the purchase of new lounge furniture. The presentation team gave their ‘Life and Hard Times of the Revolutionary War Soldier” in which they discussed the evolution of the continental uniform, items carried in the soldier’s haversack, how to load and fire a Brown Bess musket, and the chapter’s activities in locating the Revolutionary War soldiers buried in Madison County. In the future, Compatriot Wright will schedule, each month, a variety of interesting speakers for the home.
Compatriot Hoyt Smith talks about the life of the Revolutionary War soldier to the veteran of the Floyd ‘Tut’ Fann Veterans Home.
